SILENCE can BE GOLDON IN A HIGHRISE BUILDING

VIBRATION ISOLATION AND FRICTION NOISE CONTROL

Friction noises and vibrations in high rise residential or commercial buildings are irritants that create stress and decreases quality of living or working for an increased number of residents.

These sounds come from:

  • Mechanical Equipment
  • HVAC
  • Fitness Amenities
  • Swimming Pools
  • Spas

As the landscape of remote work evolves, so do the challenges associated with sound and vibration in buildings.

Vibration, impact, and friction noises have become increasingly prevalent in aging structures, partly due to fatigue and the surge in individuals spending more time at home.

Statistics Canada reports a substantial shift, with 20% of Canadians working mostly from home in 2023, a significant rise from the 4% recorded in 2016. This trend is anticipated to persist rather than revert to pre-pandemic levels.

The impact of this cultural shift is felt keenly during building upgrades and renovations, where greater consideration must be given to sound and vibration issues to address the heightened concerns of residents. However, it's not confined to aging buildings alone; new constructions, especially those incorporating elevated amenity spaces, are equally susceptible to sound and vibration challenges.

Recognizing the importance of a quiet and harmonious living environment, a proactive approach during both upgrades and new constructions becomes imperative.

By addressing these acoustic challenges head-on, we can ensure that our buildings not only meet the changing needs of their occupants but also provide a serene and comfortable atmosphere for residents in the years to come.

Solutions include:

  1. Treadmill Isolation Mounts
  2. Anti Vibration Pads
  3. Noise Control Underlayment's
  4. Acoustical and Impact Sub-Floor Gym Systems
  5. Acoustic Panels
